SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 1GB USB Flash Drive!
SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 1GB USB Flash Drive

Information is valuable. And nobody's information is more valuable than yours. Portable flash drives are hands-down the most convenient method of transferring your files from one computer to another; simply pop one into the USB slot, drop your data onto it and you'll always have your datebook, photo album, rolodex, music, portfolio or any information you could need right in your pocket. Unfortunately, that also makes it vulnerable to damage or worse, theft. There has to be a way to protect your irreplaceable or otherwise sensitive records while out in the cold, cruel world. Well worry no more, for those virtual vanguards over at SanDisk can keep your secrets secure with their Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive. Constructed with an uber-tough Liquidmetal casing, the Cruzer Titanium can withstand just about any physical punishment you can throw at it. And its built in CruzerLock2 encryption software will see to it that only you can read your grandmother's meatball recipe in case your flash drive falls into the wrong hands.

Sounds good on paper, but can it really keep info safe or is it just sound. We tested a Cruzer Titanium 1GB USB Flash Drive and were suitably impressed. Super easy to use, we simply extended the retractable connector and popped it into the USB port. Within seconds the Cruzer Titanium's groovy blue LED told us that we were recognized and ready to go. And go we did, with its 9MB/second write and 15MB/s read speeds, data just flew onto and off of the drive. Encryption was also fast and easy thanks to the CruzerLock2 software preloaded in the drive; simply activate it and follow the guide to set up your secure user name and password. And since the Cruzer Titanium is Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified and backwards compatible with all USB 1.1 ports, you shouldn't have a problem using it on just about any machine. But what if you use a PC at work, but a Mac at the house? No problem, the Cruzer Titanium is compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP and Mac OS 9.1.x+, OS X v10.1.2+.

As if that weren't enough, SanDisk's Cruzer Titanium also comes standard with PocketCache instant backup and CruzerSync Outlook & My Documents folder synchronization software. With PocketCache, you can not only back up files, but you can also set up certain files or folders to be archived on command. PocketCache also will let you restore any past snapshot of a folder or file from your flash drive back to your PC, in case you accidentally delete or modify the file. CruzerSync will automatically save your Outlook settings (Emails, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes and Internet Explorer Favorites) and My Documents info and encrypt the data. It's like having a personal secretary in your pocket. Unfortunately for Mac users, the Cruzer Titanium's CruzerLock2, PocketCache and CruzerSync are off the menu as they are only compatible with Windows based operating systems (the drive works fine on a Mac, only the encryption, instant backup and synchronization programs don't translate).

All well and good, but what if you accidentally drop it down the stairs. The Cruzer Titanium's virtually indestructible Liquidmetal case is rated to withstand up to two thousand pounds of static pressure. It's the closest thing to actually having your files in a safe, so go ahead and toss it in your crowded backpack or purse.

Bottom line is if you are looking for the safest and most secure portable drive both physically and digitally, then SanDisk's Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive is the only way to go. Available in memory sizes ranging from 512MB (around $55) to 1GB (around $80) to 2GB (around $120), you can grab one just about anywhere computer equipment is sold or online at!
